We believe that everyone who wants to work, have a job and a career can do so, given the right supports. Our role is to young people with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism to realise their employment ambitions in life by supporting them to fulfil their potential, access opportunities and build their own natural supports.

WALK REAL stands for Reaching Employment Ambitions in Life and is designed to support young people currently engaged in WALK Social Care Services. This programme supports you, the individual, to explore your career aspirations, experience work in the real world and evaluate where you fit into the working world.

Our role is:

  • To support you to develop your goals, confidence, and independence
  • To support you to prepare for the world of work.
  • To help you to find and stay in suitable paid employment


Our WALK REAL Job Coaches and Trainers support you to develop you career aspirations, plan your individual pathway and access appropriate opportunities with our partner employers.

They provide one to one support for you to:

  • Develop an individual Personal Progression Plan to help you achieve your goals
  • Prepare for work
  • Develop practical skills
  • Experience real work
  • Progress into paid employment
  • Explore further education and training options
