What programmes does WALK Training offer?

WALK PEER provides supported transition for senior students in WALK partner schools for people with intellectual disabilities. It aims to empower students and their families to make informed decisions and develop ambitious transition plans for life after finishing school.

WALK REAL is focussed on supported employment for young adults with intellectual disabilities and autism who are currently engaged in WALK's social care services. It aims to support trainees to gain and sustain employment in the open labour market, and to develop careers in line with their peers.

What is Supported Transition?

Supported Transition is an educational model that places the young person at the centre of the process by assisting them to explore their aspirations, and brings them to a point in their lives where they are able to make an informed choice about their future after school.
