We believe that everyone who wants to work, have a job and a career can do so, given the right supports. Our role is to facilitate individuals to fulfil their employment and career aspirations, by supporting them to realise their potential, access opportunities and build their own natural supports.
WALK Employer Partners are employers from all industry sectors, public and private, big and small, who are open to breaking down barriers and promoting the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities and autism in the open labour market.
We support our employer partners through the Supported Employment model to enable people with disabilities to achieve sustainable long-term employment and businesses to employ valuable workers.
We offer our employer partners a free service that includes:
Access to our online ‘Inclusive Recruitment and Retention Practices’ training, developed to support Human Resources and Recruiting Manager to become disability confident in their recruitment strategies and processes.
Onsite Disability Awareness training for local managers and staff when a WALK applicant is hired.
Support through the recruitment, induction, and onboarding process.
Job carving and development of appropriate accommodations.
Direct support for staff during initial training.
On-going in work support for both employee and employer, as and when needed.
