The WALK PEER Programme is for senior students aged 16 and up, in one of WALK's partner schools for people with intellectual disabilities; Saint Augustine's School in Dublin, St. Brigid's School in Dundalk and St. Ita's School in Drogheda.
If you are preparing to leave school, we can support you to make informed decision about your next steps in life and to bridge gaps to mainstream further education, training, and employment.
Our role is:
• To support you to develop your goals, confidence, and independence

• To help you to prepare for, find and stay in paid employment
Our WALK PEER Careers & Employment Facilitators support you to develop you career aspirations, plan your individual pathway and transition to appropriate local opportunities.
They provide one to one support for you to:
• Develop an individual Personal Progression Plan to help you achieve your goals
• Prepare for work
• Develop practical skills
• Experience real work
• Explore further education and training options
• Develop you own ambitious Transition Plan
